Automotive service FAQ
Coverage limits, future service categories, licensing distinctions, mobile worksite rules and launch status.
Are services available now?
No. The Black Hand Automotive LLC is pre-launch; no paid diagnostics, repairs, installation appointments, deposits, bookings, online service requests or vehicle custody are open.
What are your planned business hours?
Owner-approved planned business hours (Pacific Time): Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM–4:00 PM; Sunday closed. PRE-LAUNCH: appointments, customer intake, and payments are not open.
What automotive services are being planned?
First-phase planning focuses on basic diagnostic and visual/OBD buyer checks, batteries and 12V electrical, conventional brakes, accessible mechanical and selected dry maintenance, compatible car audio and cameras. Oil and fluid work, suspension/steering, simple bolt-ons, A/C refrigerant work and fleet GPS are conditional or later concepts requiring separate safeguards.
Does BAR ARD 317160 permit compensated automotive repair?
BAR registration is the general business registration for compensated automotive diagnosis, service and repair. It is not a specialist station license, equipment approval, insurance binder or authorization to accept every proposed job.
Do you offer smog checks or vehicle safety inspection certificates?
No. Smog Check and vehicle safety systems inspection station programs require separate qualifying BAR station licenses and personnel credentials.
Are all mechanical jobs possible in a driveway?
No. Every job requires adequate equipment, qualified procedures, safe support, worksite permission, waste controls and valid insurance. Facility-dependent work is not offered by the mobile model.
Can you repair vehicle air conditioning?
Only once accepted BAR trade standards, appropriate technician EPA Section 609 certification, approved refrigerant equipment and actual insurance and operating controls are verified.
Do you install car stereos, speakers and alarms?
Vehicle-compatible stereo, amplifier, speaker, alarm and related 12V work is part of the proposed scope, subject to appropriate permissions, parts and technical compatibility.
Do you provide fleet GPS or dash-camera monitoring?
No. Proposed fleet work is compatible hardware installation and customer-authorized commissioning; The Black Hand Automotive LLC does not independently monitor location histories or driver video.
Where may work be performed?
Only at lawful, safe, approved off-site customer or third-party locations that meet the requirements of the particular job. No curbside, roadway, residential-office workshop or customer drop-off is available.
How will estimates and extra work be authorized?
Before any future compensated job, The Black Hand Automotive LLC must provide required estimates, document customer authorization, separately authorize applicable additional work and charges, and provide BAR-compliant invoices.
Is an alternative automotive trade name already registered?
The California Secretary of State approved the continuing LLC's legal name The Black Hand Automotive LLC (amendment BA20261945311, filed October 15, 2026). The current California DCA public record lists The Black Hand Automotive LLC - 6RAS234 as a Valid Automotive Repair Dealer under existing ARD 317160, with matching registered telephone, following BAR approval October 19, 2026. The corrected BAR wall-registration PDF is archived in company compliance records; paid services remain closed.
Are customer prices or an appointment calendar available?
No. Customer-facing prices, service intake, bookings, payments and appointments remain closed pending an operating release. Any eventual work requires a vehicle-specific written estimate and customer authorization.
Can I receive a vehicle-specific service quote without a VIN?
No. After launch clearance, a customer-specific quote requires a validated full 17-character VIN, confirmation of the vehicle configuration, the requested job scope and a written estimate. Year, make or model alone are insufficient. During pre-launch, no customer quotes, bookings or payments are available.
Does The Black Hand Automotive use OEM or aftermarket automotive parts?
The future parts policy prioritizes original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts when available, suitable and verified for the specific vehicle. If OEM parts are unavailable or unsuitable, The Black Hand Automotive LLC may recommend a vetted aftermarket alternative; the customer must approve any substitution before a purchase. No customer parts are ordered until the full 17-character VIN, exact fitment and job requirements have been validated.
Does a VIN by itself guarantee that a replacement part fits?
No. A VIN is required but not sufficient to prove exact fitment. Engine, trim, drivetrain, factory options, build date, part numbers and revisions may need confirmation in reliable OEM and supplier application data before parts are ordered or approved.
Which ZIP codes are in the mobile service area?
No ZIP-code list or service radius has been authorized for public use yet. Greater Los Angeles is a planning reference, not a promise that a particular address can be served.
